And somehow manages to still be incredibly sexist, heteronormative, and shallow. My problem over all with the series isn’t that it’s ‘not accurate’ to Greek mythology, it’s that it doesn’t expand on or improve on the original stories in any way whatsoever. Funny, dark, sexy, and lavishly illustrated, it delights on every page. ![]() Whimsical and heartfeltAshley Poston, author of the national bestseller Geekerella Lore Olympus is a delicacy. How do you boil down ‘goddess of spring’ to ‘pink girl?’ She’s also drawn as weirdly child like especially compared to Hades to the point where in some scenes she genuinely looks like she could be his daughter. For anyone looking for a fresh take on Hades and Persephone, Lore Olympus brings us a sexy and delightful romp that captivates until the very last page. ![]() Persephone’s character design is again, incredibly lazy for someone who is clearly a talented artist. I pulled off my shirt and revealed my perfectly round breasts, both persephone and hades. 'okay then, y/n, you take off your shirt and bra too,' he smirked lustfully. 'hey hades, stay and play with us' i winked at him. Hades is depicted as the perfect older lover with no interrogation about the massive life experience gap between the two as Persephone is depicted as a very ‘new’ goddess who has just come of age while he is depicted as an ancient king.Īll the other women in the series exist to either support them as a couple unconditionally or to be depicted as evil shrews who hate Persephone because she’s just too good and too pure and Hades loves her too much. When hades arrived in a poof of smoke, the bulge in his pants quickly became visible. Persephone has no flaws other than being too sweet and pure and hopeful. ![]() It reads like bad fanfiction of another series. The character designs are lazy as hell, the interpretation of mythology wants to be ‘modern’ and ‘progressive’ but is almost more offensive than the original mythos because it doesn’t have the excuse of coming out of an incredibly patriarchal and misogynistic archaic time period, and the weird idolization of both Persephone and Hades as the ‘perfect cinnamon roll and her grumpy dark boyfriend’ couple is somehow both obnoxious and boring. I only read it because my friends kept talking about it and I was like, "Am i the only one seeing the misogyny and sexism here? Are we just gonna act like this is chill and normal and sexy.? Ok." Lady Dwell PLEASE rip Lore Olympus to shreds that webcomic made me so mad multiple times I had to keep putting it down and pace around my room haha.
